Terms of Service

1 What Elroi is

Elroi is a job board and scholarship aggregation platform. We connect healthcare and medical professionals in Uganda and East Africa with employment opportunities and scholarship information.

Elroi is not a recruitment agency. We do not make hiring decisions, guarantee employment, or act as an intermediary in employment contracts. The relationship for any job is entirely between the job seeker and the employer.

Elroi is not responsible for the content of individual job listings. Employers post their own vacancies and are solely responsible for the accuracy of those listings, the hiring process, and compliance with Ugandan employment law.

2 Who can use Elroi

You may use Elroi if you are:

• At least 18 years of age
• A healthcare or medical professional seeking employment or scholarships, or
• A healthcare employer or institution seeking to hire medical professionals
• Capable of entering into a legally binding agreement under the laws of Uganda

Persons under 18 years old may not create accounts. By registering, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

3 Your account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account password
• You must provide accurate and truthful information when registering and creating your profile
• You may only create one account per person. Duplicate accounts may be removed.
• You must notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised: hello@elroi.careers
• You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.

4 Rules for job seekers

Elroi does not verify the accuracy of individual professional profiles. Employers conduct their own verification during the hiring process.

5 Rules for employers

Elroi reserves the right to remove any job listing at any time without notice if we believe it violates these terms, is misleading, or could harm job seekers.

6 Prohibited conduct

The following are strictly prohibited on Elroi:

• Fraudulent listings: posting fake jobs to collect personal data, fees, or for any scam purpose
• Charging candidates: requesting any payment from job seekers in connection with a job listing
• False profiles: impersonating another person, institution, or creating accounts under false identities
• Scraping: using automated tools to extract job listings, candidate data, or any platform content without permission
• Harassment: contacting other users in an unwanted, threatening, or harassing manner
• Spam: sending unsolicited messages through the platform
• Interference: attempting to disrupt, hack, or compromise the platform's security or availability

Violations may result in immediate account termination and may be reported to relevant authorities.

7 Our liability

Elroi is provided "as is". While we work hard to maintain a reliable, accurate platform, we cannot guarantee the following:

• That any job listing will result in an offer of employment
• That employer information in listings is accurate or up to date
• That the platform will be available without interruption
• That all scholarship information is current or that you will be awarded any scholarship

To the maximum extent permitted by Ugandan law, Elroi is not liable for: loss of employment opportunity, financial losses arising from reliance on job or scholarship listings, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the platform.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8 Intellectual property

The Elroi platform, including its design, code, branding, and content created by Elroi, is owned by Elroi Careers and protected by Ugandan intellectual property law.

When you post content on Elroi (job listings, profile information, feedback), you grant Elroi a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and use that content to operate the platform. You retain ownership of your content.

You may not copy, reproduce, or republish Elroi's platform content without our written permission.

9 Termination

You may close your account at any time by going to your Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This is immediate and permanent.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service, without prior notice. We will inform you of the reason unless doing so would be unlawful or compromise an investigation.

Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Sections regarding liability, intellectual property, and dispute resolution survive termination.

10 Disputes

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Elroi shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.

Before initiating legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at hello@elroi.careers to resolve the matter informally. We will make reasonable efforts to reach a resolution within 30 days.

11 Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email and by displaying a notice on the platform. Continued use of Elroi after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
